Startup PowerLace think they have solved perhaps the biggest problem for heavy fingered runners – self lacing shoes.

Launched on Kickstarter, the founders describe the auto-lacing shoe as “one of the most advanced and innovative inventions of our generation!”. While perhaps not up there with the Space Shuttle, it does on first look, appear useful. The shoe – Powerlace P-One – is a robust and revolutionary outdoor shoe offering a unique once-only adjustment system based on body weight and dynamic balancing that adapts to the natural motion of your foot.

The team say that prototype availability is “imminent” and we’ll keep an eye on how the campaign and launch progress.
