Another great project and video from Frederick Vandenbosch, this time a timelapse video fabricating a custom wood frame for his RGB Matrix HAT and hooking it up to a Raspberry Pi Zero. I always like sussing other tips & tricks out of videos like this like Frederick’s use of tape to protect the HAT PCB from the double-sided foam tape used to mount the Zero; and also the wood glue-and-shavings solution to filling in any gaps in the frame.
I’ve always wanted to play with a big LED matrix, and now I have!
In this post, I’m making a Pixel Art frame, which can be used to display images, scrolling text, etc … Have it show the weather, display social media notifications or whatever else you can think of!
