Trying a new approach with software for the PiGRRL 2: users start with the latest-and-greatest RetroPie (or any other recent Raspbian Jessie-derived OS) and download scripts we provide to enable the PiTFT display and controller buttons.

This should keep the project more current with changes to RetroPie and the Raspberry Pi hardware (you can easily build a PiGRRL 2 using a Pi 3 now, no cleaning up the software after the fact). It’s not quite as simple as a ready-made SD card…it requires a little Pi experience and command-line shenanigans…but it’s an easy middle ground vs. manually editing a bunch of system files. Hopefully this iteration hits the DIY sweet spot.
