So this was made using Supinemonkey’s mods, but I also modded the original rings so that they could be glued. Each piece is flat so that there is no need for support. The flat pieces make it sooo much more smooth and quiet. The pictures include what the original straight pieces on the rings look like (all jagged) and the smooth pieces to compare. The rings also have markers on them so you know exactly where to glue. Used 3d gloop to glue them quickly with lots of strength. The straight pieces are universal for all pieces except the middle (obviously). You need to print 22 pieces. Also, I learned if you increased the infil or parameters, it would be better because the added weight helps make it stay on the cam and not get stuck.

Enjoy!

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
