A Cyber Architect 3D-Printed the Brain’s Response to Love #3DPrinting

An artist tries to 3D print visual representations of love captured from biometric waves. Not surprisingly, each mandala is as unique as a snowflake. Via Creators:
Fifty three true tales of love were translated into 3D-printed mandalas in LOVE PROJECT – EXPERIMENT 2 , a live, interactive performance from the cyber-architect Guto Requena and D3. Donning sensors that measures changes in their brainwaves, heartbeats, and voices, participants each tell of a great love story from their own lives. As they speak, the data is translated into a circular shape that grows outward in real time. At the end of the experience, the intricate visualizations are 3D-printed.
“This experiment aims to insert users into the process, introducing how the sensors, the computer interface, and the 3D printing technology actually work,” says Guto Requena. “We approximate the people to the process that solidify their immaterial memories.” In the first iteration of LOVE PROJECT, love stories were 3D-printed into everyday objects, including vases, fruit bowls, and lamps.
