Moxa has launched new cloud connectivity features in its NPort IA(W)5000A-I/O Series serial device servers and MGate 5105-MB-EIP Series protocol gateways.

These reportedly allow users to connect their serial devices more easily to cloud systems for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications. The ready-to-run connectivity solutions can collect multiple kinds of field data, such as serial, I/O, Modbus, and EtherNet/IP, and transmit these data to public cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or private cloud services, through generic MQTT. What’s more, these solutions feature intuitive user interfaces and easy-to-use functions, making the lives of engineers easy — from the set-up to full operation.

Various OT-to-Cloud combinations

Moxa’s NPort IA(W)5000A-I/O Series collects your serial or I/O data, and its MGate 5105-MB-EIP Series collects EtherNet/IP and Modbus RTU/TCP data, transmitting the data to public cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure and Alibaba Cloud, or private cloud services through generic MQTT protocols.

Easy connectivity between field and cloud

Moxa’s serial device servers and protocol gateways feature intuitive user interfaces that complete settings configurations within a few steps. Moreover, the solutions also support diagnostics tools to help users easily identify connection problems so that devices can get connected to the cloud simply and quickly.

Avoid packet loss due to unstable connections

Unstable connections happen from time to time. Moxa’s solutions can help you avoid packet loss when connections are unstable. The solutions support connection loss buffer to queue the incoming data from field devices when connections are unstable. Those data will be transmitted when the connection is back on track.
