Inspired by the Nanoleaf Light Panel Replica from Harvahammas http://bit.ly/2DjF9Bz , i created this.

It is simply built up like the Nanoleafs, but in a hexagonal form.

What you need:

1x Arduino Nano
3x Wire in different colors
1x LED strip WS 2812
1x Soldering station
1x Solder
per connection point 2 M4x10 cylinder head screws and 2 M4 nuts
time

The Arduino Nano is connected like the Nanoleaf one. 5V, Gnd and Data Pin 6.
I adapted Harvahammas Code, because I connected to much Panels and the Nano was on its limit and getting very hot.
I added the setBrightness feature to dimm the LEDs to 100 (max.255)
If you connect less Panels and want to have the full brightness, simply change the value to 255 or delete the line “FastLED.setBrightness (100)”.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
