Levi’s have partnered with Google to produce their Commuter Trucker jacket – the first cab off the Project Jacquard rank.

Targeted at cyclists (the market of choice for a majority of consumers smart clothing), the jacket weighs in at $350 – over $200 more than the standard Levi’s jacket. The makers claim it will allow the wearer to use motion controls on the sleeve to control their smartphone while on the move.

The Jacquard system can automatically tell when you’re wearing the jacket, and automatically sets the phone to a cycling mode.. It reads texts aloud either through the phone itself or through your headphones. It can be configured to only allow calls and texts from important people.

It will be available on levis.com from the 2nd October.
